Infinite Scroll Jumper shipped with Reddit platformer gameplay and leaderboards

Anurag Verma built and released a Doodle Jump-style platformer themed around Reddit, merging 15 pull requests across core gameplay, UI polish, and bug fixes in a single day.

The game launched as a vertical platformer where players control Snoo, Reddit's mascot, jumping across upvote-themed platforms while dodging falling downvotes and rotating ban hammers [1]. Power-ups include Gold Awards for +500 points, Rocket Upvotes for vertical boosts, and Silver Shields for protection [1]. The difficulty ramps across five subreddit levels, from r/aww through r/roastme, each with themed backgrounds and platform colors [1]. A Redis-based leaderboard tracks global high scores [1].

Verma spent the day refining the interface and fixing interactions. The splash page received a complete redesign with dark gradient backgrounds, animated floating upvote particles, and a pulsing play button [2]. The main menu adopted glassmorphism-style cards for stats and leaderboard display with corner decorative accents and improved responsiveness across three breakpoints [3]. The game-over screen got a matching redesign, adding animated falling downvotes, a sad Snoo with tear drops and droopy antenna, and a gold-bordered "NEW HIGH SCORE" badge that plays a celebratory sound [4].

Smaller fixes addressed layout and behavior issues. Button overlap problems were corrected by repositioning icons and adjusting text placement [5], [6]. The "tap anywhere to start" behavior was removed from both menus; players must now click the PLAY NOW button directly to start and the PLAY AGAIN button to restart [7]. Nav buttons were centered and scaled down on small screens to prevent overlap [8]. A critical crash bug in the particle system was fixed: the emitPowerUp method had been undefined for 'slowmo' and 'magnet' power-ups, causing the game to freeze when collecting them; Verma added cases with appropriate particle colors for both types [9]. The How to Play button was removed and instructions were relocated to the bottom of the screen [10].
