Codex drops the tool-namespace capability gate, Goose ships 1.53.0
By RepoJournal · Filed · About Agentic Coding · Composed from the cited sources · methodology
Codex made tool namespaces unconditional for every provider, Goose cut a feature release that reaches every desktop user, and Claude Code added selection recovery and a built-in gh api for cloud sessions.
Remove the provider capability gate for tool namespaces (#50447) openai/codex
Codex removed `namespace_tools` from `ProviderCapabilities` and `namespaceTools` from `ModelProviderCapabilitiesReadResponse`, so tool namespaces no longer depend on a provider capability check. If you maintain a provider integration or generate SDK types from that response schema, your build will see the field disappear.
v1.53.0 aaif-goose/goose
by github-actions[bot]
Goose v1.53.0 adds a resizable picture-in-picture window for MCP Apps, live model metadata from models.dev with a bundled fallback, a quoting action that appends selected conversation text to the composer, and a lean ACP-only binary. Model metadata now reflects what models.dev reports rather than whatever shipped inside your build.
v2.1.288 anthropics/claude-code
Claude Code v2.1.288 adds `$.ui.selection()` for mods, which returns the text you last selected in fullscreen mode plus the transcript row when the selection sits inside one row. Ctrl+C on a prompt is now recoverable: pressing Up on the empty prompt restores the draft, pasted text and images included, and cloud sessions whose image lacks the GitHub CLI get a built-in `gh api`.
Require GovCloud guidance acknowledgment after Bedrock setup (#50510) openai/codex
After a successful Amazon Bedrock setup, Codex now detects AWS GovCloud configurations and shows application configuration and security guidance with a terminal hyperlink, requiring an explicit Enter press to continue. Non-GovCloud configurations and failed or skipped checks proceed through onboarding without the prompt, so only GovCloud operators see the new stop.
feat(llms): opt-in Langfuse tracing for BYOK providers plus env tags, metadata and environment cline/cline
Langfuse tracing had been limited to the `cline` and `cline-pass` providers, so pointing `LANGFUSE_*` credentials at your own instance gave you nothing for OpenRouter or other BYOK providers. `CLINE_LANGFUSE_ALL_PROVIDERS=1` opts them in, and env tags, metadata and environment labels are available for benchmark and isolated-environment runs.
Desktop v0.0.43 cline/cline
by github-actions[bot]
Cline Desktop v0.0.43 gives existing users a one-time What's new dialog introducing Connectors, replayable from Settings, About, Show what's new. The rest of the release is connector and Customize surface work: Customize now loads the Composio catalog into a Browse section and defaults to the Connectors tab.
fix(bedrock): preserve the service total when folding cache input tokens aaif-goose/goose
Bedrock usage conversion now folds cache read and write tokens into `input_tokens` while preserving the `total_tokens` value Bedrock reports, so prompt-cached sessions use the service's complete total for compaction and usage reporting instead of counting the cache twice. `from_bedrock_usage` had called `Usage::from_cache_exclusive_input`, a helper meant for providers whose totals exclude cache...
feat(chat): add optional voice dictation to the chat input OpenHands/OpenHands
OpenHands added an optional mic button to the chat input for voice dictation, frontend-only with settings stored in the browser. Automations also gained a Filter by creator field (Anyone, Me, Others) that filters server-side, and the list now pages by offset so Load more works past 100 items.
