Diff pane stops forking per file, Sonnet 4.5 gets an end date

By RepoJournal · Filed · About Anthropic · Composed from the cited sources · methodology

A cluster of claude-code diff-pane fixes collapses up to fifty git processes into one and keeps the panel honest after rebases, while the Go SDK pins Claude Sonnet 4.5's end-of-life to November 30, 2026.

diff: the pane reads every file's hunks with one git process, where it started one per file anthropics/claude-code

by poteat

The pane now reads every changed file's hunks with a single git diff --raw -z -p over the drawn paths, replacing the one-process-per-file model that could spawn up to fifty processes after each tool call. It matters most on Windows, where process startup is slow and any one of those fifty could fail or time out.

v1.78.0 anthropics/anthropic-sdk-go

by stainless-app[bot]

The Go SDK adds a list spend limits endpoint and, more consequentially, marks Claude Sonnet 4.5 deprecated with an end-of-life of November 30, 2026. The same spend limits endpoint and deprecation landed in the CLI as v1.38.0.

descriptor: bound what reflective JSON parsing materializes anthropics/buffa

by v0ropaev

The reflective JSON parser previously had no budget of any kind, since DecodeOptions never reached a serde Deserializer, while the serialize side already honored RECURSION_LIMIT. This bounds what deserialization is allowed to materialize.

remote-derive: opt-in Arbitrary forwarder on every derive anthropics/buffa

by v0ropaev

buffa-remote-derive generated only the binary codec surface, and its own docs specified that absence for serde, Arbitrary, and reflection. Every derive now carries an opt-in Arbitrary forwarder.

diff: the pane reads the diff again after a rebase that finished anthropics/claude-code

by poteat

Git leaves REBASE_HEAD behind after a rebase that stopped on a conflict and was then continued or skipped, and the pane read that file alone as a rebase under way, failing every read until it disappeared. The pane now reads the diff again, and separately picks up a merge finished in another terminal.
