Buffered Any payloads now count against the element memory limit

By RepoJournal · Filed · About Anthropic · Composed from the cited sources · methodology

Buffa closes the last gap in reflective-parsing memory bounds while tightening f32 text output, error chaining, and two correctness edges, and the Claude Code toolchain moves to 2.1.289 across three repos.

reflect: charge buffered Any payloads against the element memory limit (#507) anthropics/buffa

by Onkesh Bansal

A reflective JSON google.protobuf.Any payload is now charged against the element memory limit while it is buffered, not only when it is replayed into the target message. DynamicMessageSeed::with_element_memory_limit previously bounded what a reflective parse built, but Any was the exception because its JSON object must be read in full before the @type key is known.

text: print float fields with f32 digits anthropics/buffa

by dfedoryshchev

Text format wrote float fields with f64 digits, so 0.1 came out as 0.10000000149011612 and -2.2 as -2.200000047683716, because TextEncoder::write_f32 widened the value with v as f64 before formatting. JSON output for the same field already said 0.1 via serialize_f32; the value still parses back to the same f32, but golden files and diffs were noisy.

yaml: preserve error source anthropics/buffa

by fallintoplace

The wrapped YAML error is now reachable through Error::source(), so callers can inspect the underlying carrier error instead of matching on the outer variant alone. A malformed-YAML regression test covers it.

codegen: reject sibling oneof name collisions anthropics/buffa

by fallintoplace

Sibling oneofs that map to the same Rust enum name are rejected at codegen time, with the message path and conflicting names in the error, rather than surfacing later as a duplicate definition in generated Rust. Synthetic optional oneofs are skipped in the comparison.

types: preserve i64::MIN in SystemTime conversion anthropics/buffa

by fallintoplace

Pre-epoch SystemTime values at the lower boundary were shifted forward by one second; seconds are now computed in i128 and saturate below i64::MIN, with tests covering the exact boundary, fractional values, and saturation.

chore: bump Claude Code to 2.1.289 and Agent SDK to 0.3.289 anthropics/claude-code-action

by GitHub Actions

The long tail: claude-code-action bumped Claude Code to 2.1.289 and the Agent SDK to 0.3.289, claude-code-base-action synced base-action to the same commit, claude-agent-sdk-python bumped its bundled CLI to 2.1.289, and claude-code refreshed CHANGELOG.md and feed.xml.
