Anurag Verma built out a full Reddit Wrapped analyzer across 18 commits, integrating Reddit's API, adding statistical analysis, and polishing the user interface through multiple rounds of responsive design work.
The core of the day was implementing a Reddit Wrapped application that analyzes any public Reddit profile [1]. The backend features Reddit API integration to fetch user data, statistical analysis with rule-based insights, account age and karma breakdown, top subreddits by activity, posting patterns, personality detection, and a badge system [1].
Early on, Anurag fixed 403 Forbidden errors by switching from direct HTTP requests to Devvit's built-in Reddit API client, which is required when running in Devvit's server environment [2]. He replaced fetch() calls with reddit.getUserByUsername() and updated all API functions to accept RedditAPIClient as the first parameter [2].
The splash screen and initial server setup came next, with creation of splash.html and splash.tsx for the interface, TypeScript configuration for client, server, and shared code, and API endpoints for post initialization and counting [3].
The bulk of the remaining work focused on enhancing the user experience. Anurag removed artificial limits on data fetching in useWrapped and added comprehensive logging [4]. He improved responsive design across multiple breakpoints, adjusted progress indicators and navigation buttons for better visibility, and added new badges like "Karma Achiever," "Comment Champion," and "Community Explorer" [5]. New slides were added for user impact, top words, and milestones with enhanced analysis functions [6]. The Splash component was streamlined through multiple refactors, removing the footer, improving layout and styling, and simplifying feature tags [7], [8], [9]. Sharing functionality in SummarySlide was enhanced with better URL generation and message formatting for Twitter and Reddit [10]. Documentation was updated throughout, including the README for Reddit Wrapped 2025 and a new CONTRIBUTING guide [11], [12].
