A fix in ananicy-rules [1] stops the ly-dm session launcher from inheriting SCHED_IDLE, a policy that previously stuck to descendants and dragged down desktop startup. The patch [2] switches ly-dm to the established Launcher type, which "retains the intended background nice/IO behavior while explicitly restoring the normal scheduler policy." Meanwhile, CachyOS-PKGBUILDS moved Rare to Python 3.13 [3], ensuring the Heroic Games Launcher fork builds cleanly against the current interpreter.
