CachyOS Linux 7.2.3-2 brings Apple T2 driver stack, cachy-update 4.2.1

By RepoJournal ยท Filed ยท About CachyOS

CachyOS Linux ships 7.2.3-2 for the main branch, adding early Apple T2 CPU offlining and the new t2bce driver stack, while cachy-update rolls out to v4.2.1.

The CachyOS Linux kernel release 7.2.3-2 lands on the 7.2/t2 branch, based on Linux 7.2.3 with an updated branch that adds Apple T2 support. The changes include "ACPI: x86: Apple T2 systems need early CPU offlining," the new `t2bce` driver stack, `apple-gmux: allow switching to igpu at probe`, `applesmc: Add iMacPro to applesmc_whitelist`, and a basic mmio interface implementation [1]. This is the second revision since cachyos-7.2.3-1, so owners of Apple hardware with T2 chips should update to get these fixes.

The `copr-linux-cachyos` repo also tracks Linux 7.2.3 and bumps `scx-scheds-git` to a new version and tag [2][3]. On the userspace side, `cachy-update` moves to v4.2.1 via a merge from the upstream Antiz96 branch [4][5]. The `archlinux-keyring` package updates to 20260902, which should be pulled in with the next system upgrade [6].

The AUR-derived repo shipped routine automated version bumps: claude-desktop to 1.40609.1, claude-code to 2.1.259, plasmozones to 3.4.9, helium-browser-bin to 0.16.4.1, and fish-pure-prompt to 4.19.0 [7][8][9][10][11]. None carried risk flags from the static diff scan; they are typical source and checksum refreshes. The statuspage bot confirms the China mirrors (USTC and Nanjing) are up, with the USTC mirror responding in 1142 ms and Nanjing in 2639 ms [12][13].

A cosmetic comment update landed in cachyos-hypr-noctalia [14]. Nothing else of note changed across the remaining desks.
