distinct(*fields) resolves aliases containing "__", and asgiref trims the TLS extension to client certificate chains
By RepoJournal · Filed · About Django · Composed from the cited sources · methodology
Two behavioral changes land in the Django stack: annotation aliases with double underscores now resolve correctly in distinct(*fields), and asgiref's TLS extension drops everything except client_cert_chain.
Fixed #37350 -- Made distinct(*fields) resolve aliases containing "__". django/django
SQLCompiler.get_distinct() used to split each field name on LOOKUP_SEP before checking whether it was an annotation alias, so an alias containing "__" was broken apart before the lookup. Query.get_names_to_join() now preserves annotation aliases and does the resolution instead, which means queries passing annotated names to distinct(*fields) stop being mangled at compile time.
Prefer client certificate chains in the TLS extension django/asgiref
The TLS extension now keeps only client_cert_chain, dropping the fields that required servers to parse or translate TLS metadata; the version history is documented in the same change. Applications can still derive certificate details from the chain, so ASGI servers no longer have to parse X.509 certificates themselves to participate.
Refs #37136 -- Fixed test skips for Oracle Test Pilot. django/django
Jacob Walls corrected test skips for the Oracle Test Pilot, which affects what the Oracle test suite actually runs rather than the shipped library. Oracle users running the suite locally should see fewer tests silently skipped.
Fixed #37374 -- Removed unused hyperlink targets pointing to nonexistent docs pages. django/django
HardMax71 removed hyperlink targets that pointed at documentation pages that no longer exist. Nothing in the code changes; only docs links to dead pages.
