JSONField integer keys stop crashing Postgres and Oracle
By RepoJournal · Filed · About Django · Composed from the cited sources · methodology
Django closed out #37297 on both backends, while djangoproject.com moved its S3 media support from an open PR to a pinned production dependency.
Fixed #37297 -- Prevented crash on JSONField key lookups when an integer key is outside PostgreSQL's int4 range. django/django
A JSONField key lookup with an integer outside PostgreSQL's int4 range used to crash instead of returning a result; it now resolves without raising. Relevant if you query JSON data with user-supplied or externally generated numeric keys.
Refs #37297 -- Prevented crash on JSONField __isnull lookups on Oracle when a key is outside its integer range. django/django
The same class of key blows past Oracle's array-subscript literal limits: JSON_EXISTS() rejects it with ORA-40598/JZN-00211, so __isnull lookups on Oracle crashed too. This commit handles that path, and the commit message names both Oracle errors as the trigger.
Added django-storages[boto3] dependency for S3 support django/djangoproject.com
django-storages[boto3]==1.14.6 is now a production dependency, pinned rather than floated. It backs the optional S3 media support tracked in #2802, so the code path behind that PR gets a fixed version to test against.
Refs #37065 -- Added missing await in method_decorator example. django/django
The method_decorator docs example was missing its await, so anyone copying it into an async view got a coroutine that never ran. Worth a glance if the pattern is in your codebase.
