The CompositeField DEP adding Table-Valued Expressions and set-returning functions to the ORM was approved by the Steering Council on 2026-10-14, moving generate_series-style work on contrib.postgres from proposal into accepted design.
Speed up `Local` (#551) django/asgiref
Local now specializes on thread_critical instead of routing every attribute access through a context manager, after profiling a Django app with viztracer showed Local's access and locking appearing in the trace. The implementation idea is credited to bluetech, with Carlton Gibson as co-author.
Remove the django-admin runtime notice django/deps
The DEP drops the requirement that django-admin print a notice about the new command name: the alias stays indefinitely, and the notice broke shell completion. Ryan Hiebert cites feedback on the implementation PR for the new django command as the trigger.

Building docs with shared doctrees, as docs/Makefile does, could produce different output depending on build order because of a builder-specific optimization in ConsoleDirective; that optimization is gone and Sphinx build time was not noticeably affected. It also clears a RemovedInSphinx11Warning from ConsoleDirective.run() about the deprecated sphinx.environment.BuildEnvironment.app.
