TERRAFORM GOOGLE PROVIDERS LOCK IN GCP SCALING AND RESTORE FIXES

By RepoJournal · Filed · About HashiCorp

Google Cloud provider updates across both stable and beta channels ship Cloud Run v2 scaling controls, network gateway enhancements, and a critical backupdr restore tag bug fix.

Terraform Google providers landed three major feature additions and one critical bug fix across 12 commits and 12 PRs in the past 24 hours. Cloud Run v2 now exposes CPU and concurrency utilization scaling thresholds under the scaling block [1] [2], giving teams finer control over autoscaling behavior on the v2 platform. Network Services got a new `allow_global_access` field on `google_network_services_gateway` [3] [4], marked immutable to force proper resource recreation when changed on SECURE_WEB_GATEWAY proxies. Both stable and beta channels received the same enhancements and fixes in lockstep, keeping deployment patterns consistent. The most critical change: backupdr's restore operation was dropping `resource_manager_tags` during restore requests, causing tags shown in the plan to silently fail application [5] [6]. Dataproc attached disk configuration support shipped across both providers [7] [8] as well. Nomad tooling shipped nightly snapshots for both nomad-driver-podman and nomad-pack [9] [10], allowing operators to test against the latest development builds.
