Omarchy closes SSH, fingerprint, and YT6801 cleanup gaps

By RepoJournal · Filed · About Linux · Composed from the cited sources · methodology

Omarchy's teardown paths for SSH, fingerprint auth, and the Motorcomm NIC driver now fully undo what setup installed, and archinstall's configs move to a single declarative summary method.

Remove standard SSH allow rules when disabling SSH basecamp/omarchy

by AFOliveira

Disabling SSH deleted only the UFW rate-limit rule, so `allow 22/tcp` and `allow ssh` survived while the tooling reported the port closed. The fix removes all three standard forms, propagates UFW failures instead of swallowing them, and notes that custom firewall rules still need separate review.

Remove saved fingerprint templates for the invoking user basecamp/omarchy

by AFOliveira

Removing fingerprint authentication used to leave the invoking user's templates under `/var/lib/fprint`; the account is now resolved through `/usr/bin/id`, validated, and its local templates deleted before the packages go. Other accounts are untouched, and sensor-held data is not reset.

Replace YT6801 DKMS driver with upstream support basecamp/omarchy

by AFOliveira

`yt6801-dkms` is retired for Motorcomm PCI ID `1f0a:6801` after the upstream `dwmac-motorcomm` driver was shown to have taken over every adapter, so migrated systems stop loading the vendor module and stop exposing its private device-control interface. The migration reprobes each device and verifies its exact sysfs binding before removing the fallback package.

Use declarative summary method for all sub-configs archlinux/archinstall

by svartkanin

A new `SubConfig` abstract class backs every sub-configuration entry, and each config now implements the `summary` method that assembles the installation preview. One declarative path replaces per-config preview code.

Single source for `PKGBUILD` archlinux/archinstall

by h8d13

The long tail: archinstall consolidates onto a single source for `PKGBUILD`, 52 Nepali strings land with all `{}` placeholders preserved and `msgfmt --check` passing (331/608 translated), and Ruff's flake8-return rules are enabled with the resulting returns cleaned up.
