NVMe auth fix lands, Omarchy makes OpenClaw self-updating

By RepoJournal · Filed · About Linux · Composed from the cited sources · methodology

The kernel's 7.3 block fixes close an out-of-bounds write in nvmet_auth_challenge, while Omarchy stops shipping OpenClaw in a location upstream's updater refuses to touch.

Merge tag 'block-7.3-20261002' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/axboe/linux torvalds/linux

by Linus Torvalds

The pull request description says nvmet_auth_challenge() called sizeof() on a void pointer, undercounting the challenge header so a short AUTH_RECEIVE buffer passed the bounds check and wrote out of bounds. Jens Axboe's block-7.3-20261002 tag also carries nvme-multipath fixes for an ANA log bounds check underflow and the command effects log lifetime for multipath heads.

Install OpenClaw as a self-updating copy under ~/.openclaw basecamp/omarchy

by spencerbull

Omarchy installed OpenClaw at /usr/lib/node_modules/openclaw, root- and pacman-owned, which is why `openclaw update` died with global-install-foreign-destination or EACCES and the Control UI's Update Gateway failed on mkdtemp in /usr/lib/node_modules. It now installs a self-updating copy under ~/.openclaw instead, so the button the manual told people not to press becomes usable.

Fix Codex limits, Claude counting, and agent usage reliability from community PRs basecamp/omarchy

by dhh

Twenty-five community PRs land as one commit each, every one passing the agent tests standalone; Codex limits now read app-server replies from the raw fd so batched or interleaved replies stop timing out the limits probe, and Codex is resolved through mise instead of the lazy launcher. Claude counting and the agents panel get fixes from the same batch.

Merge tag 'cifs-fixes-7.3-rc6' of https://git.manguebit.org/linux torvalds/linux

by Linus Torvalds

Paulo Alcantara's tag describes the bugs as found by running generic/363 (fsx) in a loop against Windows Server 2022 and Samba: data dirtied past EOF through an mmap reappeared as file content once the file was extended by a write, truncate, zero range, copy range or clone range. Dirty data is now flushed and in-flight I/O drained around those operations.

Merge tag 'hid-for-linus-2026100201' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/hid/hid torvalds/linux

by Linus Torvalds

The HID fixes revert Bolt's integration into hid-logitech-dj, patch buffer overflows in Intel-thc-hid reported by Even Xu, and address Sashiko findings in hid-multitouch and HID-BPF. The probes, BPF and third-party plugin manifest fixes round out a patch-heavy day.
