Netlink stops hashing the net pointer, stmmac clears a stuck RGMII interrupt

By RepoJournal · Filed · About Linux · Composed from the cited sources · methodology

The kernel's fix queue leads with an information leak in netlink's rhashtable key and a long-pending RGMII status interrupt in dwmac1000, while the SoC and Hyper-V trees land their last-minute pre-merge fixes.

netlink: avoid hashing the network namespace pointer torvalds/linux

by Kyle Zeng

The netlink rhashtable key mixed a raw struct net pointer with a user-controlled port ID, and because /proc/net/netlink and socket diagnostics expose bucket order, an unprivileged reader binding and rebinding chosen NETLINK_USERSOCK port IDs could distinguish equal buckets and recover the low bits of the Jenkins hash. Those bits let the 32-bit seed and the limited set of kernel-image slides be ...

net: stmmac: dwmac1000: clear the RGMII status interrupt torvalds/linux

by Igor Velkov

Since the removal of SGMII/RGMII/SMII interrupt handling, nothing on the RGMII path read GMAC_RGSMIIIS, so RGSMIIIS stayed pending behind GMAC_INT_MASK from the first link change onward. On resume, stmmac_hw_setup() resets the MAC, the reset zeroes GMAC_INT_MASK until dwmac1000_core_init() rewrites it, and the pending status floods the line with "unexpected status 04000000"; the fix clears the ...

Merge tag 'soc-fixes-7.3-3' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/soc/soc torvalds/linux

by Linus Torvalds

Arnd Bergmann's last-minute pull since LPC is mostly devicetree: Tegra264 gains fan descriptions to keep the system from overheating, a TI DRA7 cleanup that regressed PCI support gets a fixup, and the beaglev-fire board can no longer probe the mcp3564 sensor after an inconsistent update in 7.1.

Merge tag 'hyperv-fixes-signed-20261015' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/hyperv/linux torvalds/linux

by Linus Torvalds

Wei Liu's Hyper-V tree lands typo and comment fixes, a maintainers list update, two Hyper-V PCI driver fixes, and small fixes to core Hyper-V code.

MAINTAINERS: drop KY from Hyper-V maintainers list torvalds/linux

by Wei Liu

KY is dropped from the Hyper-V maintainers list; the commit message notes only that he has retired from Microsoft.

Take a screenshot with Super + Shift + S (#8827) basecamp/omarchy

by TripleU

Super + Shift + S now takes the same screenshot PRINT always did, matching the chord Windows users reach for, because PRINT sits behind a function layer on most laptops and is absent entirely on Apple and Logitech keyboards. Google Maps moves one modifier over to Super + Shift + Alt + S, and no tiling binding changes.

by TripleU613

The change lands via pull request with PRINT left exactly as it was and Google Maps relocated alongside the other secondary web apps.

List the ProArt P14's amplifier firmware with the optional packages (#15557) basecamp/omarchy

by Ryan Hughes

The ProArt P14's amplifier firmware is now listed with the optional packages: only its hardware setup installs it, so without the listing the ISO's offline mirror lacked it and an install on a ProArt stopped on "target not found".
