Supabase CLI traces every run with opt-in OTLP export

By RepoJournal · Filed · About Supabase · Composed from the cited sources · methodology

The Supabase CLI can now emit a single OpenTelemetry trace per run, from migrations down to individual SQL statements, while the rest of the day is packaging, tests, and type regeneration.

feat(cli): trace CLI runs end-to-end with opt-in OTLP export (#6935) supabase/cli

by Andrew Valleteau

Every CLI run can now produce one OpenTelemetry trace covering migrations, containers, health waits, API operations, and SQL statements. Export is opt-in per run via SUPABASE_TRACE_FILE for a local OTLP/JSON file or SUPABASE_OTLP_ENDPOINT for Tempo, Jaeger, or Grafana, costs nothing when unset, and never exports free-form text or secrets. Two new scripts turn traces into something you can read.

fix(stack): write instance root owner markers atomically (#6933) supabase/cli

by Julien Goux

ensureOwnedInstanceRoot wrote its owner marker with writeFile(..., { flag: "wx" }), which Node implements as an exclusive open followed by a separate write, so a concurrent claimer could observe a created-but-empty marker and fail. "lets concurrent first claims of a fresh root all succeed" was failing intermittently in InstanceRoot.integration.test.ts. This is a breaking change to nothing you c...

test(stack): ignore the host-gateway probe when listing whole-stack workloads (#6952) supabase/cli

by Julien Goux

whole-stack E2E listed Docker workloads by the com.supabase.stack label alone, which swept in the container runtime's short-lived docker run --rm host-gateway probe from readProbeHosts. The identity check in the "eager lifecycle and reopen" scenario now ignores that probe, ending another intermittent failure.

test(repo): remove test Docker volumes once per run by creation label (#6923) supabase/cli

by Julien Goux

Docker-backed stack tests left a named supabase-db-* volume behind on every run, because tests that used a temporary state root destroyed the stack and then deleted the root while the shared volume survived. Volumes are now removed once per run by creation label. Local test runs stop accumulating orphaned disk.

docs(repo): add a test-audit skill with an authoring gate and an audit mode (#6890) supabase/cli

by Julien Goux

A new .agents/skills/test-audit/SKILL.md loads whenever a test is written, changed, or reviewed, adding a four-question authoring gate and an audit mode, since the existing rules in AGENTS.md were prose agents skipped. Closing the long tail: slim-services published postgres 15.19.0.003-r0, postgres 17.11.0.003-orioledb-r0, and storage v1.79.31-r0 for linux/amd64, linux/arm64, and darwin/arm64 a...
