ClickHouse array replication unblocks, Snowflake CDC memory bounded

By RepoJournal · Filed · About Supabase · Composed from the cited sources · methodology

A ClickHouse replication stall that had no way out without a resync is fixed, Snowflake CDC stops retaining one row-batch builder per active table, and Realtime ships presence usage metrics in v2.143.0.

clickhouse: skip DROP NOT NULL on array columns (#1094) supabase/etl

by Jordan McQueen

A source DROP NOT NULL on an array column previously sent MODIFY COLUMN ... Nullable(Array(...)), which ClickHouse rejects; recovery then resent the same DDL, so the table stayed stuck and replication stopped for every table until a resync. ETL now does nothing for array columns, which is safe because a NULL array is already written as an empty array.

fix(snowflake): bound CDC encoder memory across tables supabase/etl

by farazdagi

Snowflake CDC used to hold one row-batch builder per active table until a batch or schema/truncate boundary, so a wide table set could retain hundreds of zstd compressors even for tiny rows. Events are now grouped by table inside existing Relation/TRUNCATE boundaries and encoded one table at a time, bounding live builders to one per write task while preserving per-table ordering, request packin...

v2.143.0 supabase/realtime

by realtime-release-bot[bot]

Realtime v2.143.0 adds a metric that gathers presence usage stats from the Phoenix tracker shards: total tenants using presence, total topics, and a bucketed count of members per topic. It runs on a 60s timer and measures its own duration, and the shard scan runs in a task and tolerates missing ETS tables.

chore: bump vulnerable dependencies (#51381) supabase/supabase

by Ivan Vasilov

Ten transitive dependencies flagged by pnpm audit are bumped in lockfile-only commits with no permanent overrides: proxy-addr, shell-quote, @fastify/busboy, @graphql-tools/executor-legacy-ws, @modelcontextprotocol/sdk, compression, http-cache-semantics, source-map-js, smol-toml, and dompurify. If you pin any of these downstream, check for conflicts.

chore: bump vulnerable dependencies supabase/supabase

by ivasilov

The long tail is packaging and housekeeping: slim-services published smoke-tested realtime v2.143.0-r0 and storage v1.80.0-r0 artifacts for linux/amd64, linux/arm64, and darwin/arm64, the Snowflake encoder gained a 12-workload compression and request-packing benchmark, nested presence payloads gained latency-metric test coverage, and Studio restored deployment update metadata via GitHub's docum...
