create-vue scaffolds without wiping existing files, vitest 5 lands
By RepoJournal · Filed · About Vue.js · Composed from the cited sources · methodology
create-vue's two most consequential changes in the last 24 hours both touch the scaffolder's core behavior: an opt-in to keep existing files in place, and a jump to vitest 5 across the test template.
feat: add option to scaffold without deleting existing files vuejs/create-vue
The scaffolder gains an option that skips deleting files already present in the target directory, so create-vue can be dropped into an existing project instead of demanding a clean one. The same change lands on main via a separate commit.
chore: upgrade vitest to 5.0 vuejs/create-vue
create-vue's test setup moves to vitest 5, and the upgrade drops Vite Plus release age exclusions from the generated config. Anyone scaffolding a project with the vitest option gets the new major on fresh installs.
chore(deps): update dependency oxfmt to ^0.71.0 vuejs/create-vue
Renovate bumps the oxfmt formatter from ^0.67.0 to ^0.71.0 in create-vue's own tooling, unrelated to what the scaffolder emits for users.
chore(deps): update all non-major dependencies vuejs/test-utils
vuejs/test-utils refreshed its non-major dependency set, including @types/node from 24.13.6 to 24.19.0.
