VitePress local search segments Chinese and Japanese
By RepoJournal · Filed · About Vue.js · Composed from the cited sources · methodology
VitePress fixed local search for Chinese and Japanese sites by tokenizing Han, Hiragana and Katakana with Intl.Segmenter, while Vue's compiler now points defineModel() users at the right fix.
fix(search): segment Chinese and Japanese text in local search vuejs/vitepress
MiniSearch's default tokenizer only splits on spaces and punctuation, so a whole Chinese or Japanese sentence became a single term and queries like 搜索 or 検索 never matched words inside it. The new default tokenize splits as before, then segments runs of Han, Hiragana or Katakana with Intl.Segmenter; Latin text, symbols and adjacent emoji are left alone.
dx(compiler-core): hint at defineModel() ref when v-model is used on a prop (fix #13280) vuejs/core
When v-model targets a prop declared by defineModel(), the compiler's X_V_MODEL_ON_PROPS message only suggested the v-bind plus v-on pattern, which is not the fix in that case. The message now also points at the ref returned by defineModel(), so the unassigned-defineModel pattern in the issue no longer leaves you guessing.
