OGCOPS launched with 109 templates and Raycast-inspired design

Anurag Verma shipped OGCOPS, a free OG image generator and social preview checker built on Astro with 109 templates across 12 categories, along with a complete visual redesign, documentation suite, and CI infrastructure.

The day opened with the initial commit to codercops/ogcops [1], an Astro SSR app with React Islands that renders Open Graph preview images client-side using satori and generates PNGs server-side at accurate per-platform viewport widths for real-world social media mockups.

Verma added proper branding assets across the site [2], creating an SVG logo with the OG mark and COPS text in accent color, along with a favicon system that included SVG sources, PNG variants at 16x16, 32x32, 180x180 for apple-touch-icon, web manifest icons at 192 and 512 pixels, and an og-default.png for social sharing.

CI setup required attention. Verma installed @astrojs/check as a dev dependency and resolved TypeScript errors blocking the build [3], fixing Buffer/Uint8Array type mismatches in the PNG rendering pipeline and a Zod type assertion in the parameter merging logic.

Documentation landed in two waves. The first added standard open-source files including CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md (Contributor Covenant v2.1), SECURITY.md, CHANGELOG.md, and expanded CONTRIBUTING.md with project structure and commit conventions [4]. The second refined the README hero image by switching from blog-minimal-dark to github-readme-hero template with brand accent color, and added a contributors grid via contrib.rocks [5].

A major redesign shipped with Raycast-inspired visual language across all pages [6], introducing crisp typography, generous whitespace, subtle gradients, soft glows, and micro-interactions. The work included a redesigned editor, templates gallery, API docs, and fixed a thumbnail API cropping bug so templates render at full 1200x630 and scale down via CSS.

Verma fixed the visitor counter returning 403 Forbidden on Vercel by adding the Content-Type header to bypass CSRF protection [7], and renamed main branch references to production throughout CI workflows, README, and contributing docs [8].
