NORWAY MIRROR DOWN, KERNEL STACK SHIPS MAINTENANCE RELEASES

By RepoJournal · Filed · About CachyOS

CachyOS infrastructure is reporting a downed Norway mirror while the kernel and toolchain stacks push routine version bumps across the board.

The Norway Mirror went offline in the last 24 hours [1], triggering status page updates across the monitoring infrastructure [2][3][4][5]. On the kernel side, CachyOS Linux 7.1.4-2 shipped with vmalloc and page allocation optimizations [6] that land memory management improvements from upstream branches. The scheduler ecosystem followed suit with bumped versions for both scx-scheds-git and scx-tools-git across COPR [7][8][9]. Meanwhile, ananicy-rules expanded gaming emulator support by adding BSNES and bringing all launcher rules into parity with Steam [10][11][12], addressing long-standing inconsistencies in process scheduling rules. The AUR-derived package repos moved four packages to newer versions: claude-code to 2.1.215, claude-desktop to 1.22209.3, faugus-launcher to 2.0.0, and plasmazones to 3.2.5 [13][14][15][16]. Documentation also landed a cleanup: the Chromium hardware acceleration wiki page dropped deprecated GPU flags that no longer have effect on current builds [17][18].
