feat(api): add beta session spending limits openai/openai-node

by jbeckwith-oai

Sessions can now carry a USD-cent spending limit at create and update time, with reported consumption to check against it. Omitting spend_control on update retains the existing limit; passing null removes it, so an update payload that accidentally drops the field will not silently clear your cap.

feat(api): align beta pagination limits and non-null parameters openai/openai-node

by jbeckwith-oai

Concrete breaking behavior for existing callers: out-of-range page sizes now surface as HTTP 400 rather than being clamped. Audit any listing loop that asks for more than 100 items per page before deploying.

v3.35.0 openai/openai-python

by openai-sdks[bot]

Live sideband events now have generated types in openai-python, so consumers of the sideband stream can drop hand-rolled parsing. Arrives in 3.35.0 alongside a corrected Beta agent session listing argument in the 3.34.1 patch.

v3.33.0 openai/openai-python

by openai-sdks[bot]

Requests and responses for image generation now carry safety identifiers, letting you correlate a moderation outcome back to the request that produced it. This is the API surface behind the identifier work that landed earlier in the week.

fix(streaming): restore async HTTP/1.1 connection reuse openai/openai-python

by marcuswood-oai

After the [DONE] sentinel, the async HTTP/1.1 path gets a 100 ms drain budget to hand the connection back to the pool; a timeout or transport failure closes it without failing output already delivered. Containers behind [DONE] fix their connection request/response for a more reliable stream.

feat: add browser and computer toolsets (1/4) openai/openai-node

by markstuart-oai

BrowserToolset and ComputerToolset run actions through your own drivers, checking browser state and computer actions before invoking them and handling screenshots, files, and action policies. The ComputerDriver type exports too, so the driver interface is now typed rather than implicit. Python's version ships sync and async variants of both.

Close input admission while a turn finishes recording (#53452) openai/codex

by Eric Traut

Marked breaking: inputs that arrive while a turn is finalizing could be queued behind the drained final batch or recorded ahead of it. Active turns are now marked finishing before pending input is drained, and inputs arriving in that window are rejected.

Isolate arg0 helper directories by operating system (#53412) openai/codex

by jif

The release notes describe the duplicate: Windows and WSL can share CODEX_HOME "without sharing a lock namespace, allowing cleanup to remove another platform's live helpers." Helper directories are now isolated per operating system, and older clients no longer clean helpers under the shared tmp/arg0 root.
