Windows async preemption paused during exception handling

By RepoJournal · Filed · About Go · Composed from the cited sources · methodology

Go's runtime stops injecting asyncPreempt into Windows threads stuck in kernel mode and exception handling, closing a crash window the CVE-2026-39822 fix opened on AIX.

runtime: skip async preemption during Windows exception handling golang/go

by Deniz Kökden

A thread's context can be unsafe to modify while it sits in kernel mode, during exception handling or page faults, and injecting asyncPreempt there could crash the process. The runtime now asks GetThreadContext for exception-state reporting and skips injection when CONTEXT_EXCEPTION_ACTIVE or CONTEXT_SERVICE_ACTIVE is set, or when the kernel did not report the state at all, then resumes the thr...

net/http: on Transport body write error, wait briefly for a response golang/go

by Damien Neil

When a server rejects a request and closes the connection, the client saw the response and the failed body write race each other. RoundTrip now waits 50ms after a write error to see whether a response arrives, on the reasoning that the server's response is the more useful of the two errors. That is a 50ms delay on the error path only.

os: fix Root test failures on AIX golang/go

by Ayappan Perumal

AIX lets paths ending in / succeed on non-directory targets instead of returning ENOTDIR, and permits read(2) on a directory file descriptor, breaking tests introduced by the CVE-2026-39822 fix. The affected consistency cases are now skipped on AIX rather than relaxed for everyone else.

cmd/compile: rename ir.WithFunc to ir.WithPos golang/go

by Michael Matloob

ir.WithFunc no longer sets ir.CurFunc, only base.Pos, so it is now ir.WithPos; the rename passes toolstash -cmp on linux/amd64, linux/arm64, and linux/386. Its follow-up drops the underscore-suffixed names (curfunc_, mapRType.curfunc_ and friends) left behind by the curfunc refactoring in cmd/compile.

gopls/doc: escape analyzer titles in Markdown output golang/tools

by Alan Donovan

The analyzer docs generator converted each Analyzer.Doc body to Markdown but pasted the title line verbatim, so reflecttypefor's "TypeFor[T]()" rendered on go.dev/gopls/analyzers as TypeFor followed by an empty link. Titles are now escaped too, and the same raw Analyzer.Doc strings in the api.json "analyses" EnumKeys get the same treatment. The long tail: Peter Weinberger fixed TestIncrementalN...
