4.5 archlinux/archinstall

by Torxed

RT kernel variants come in from upstream, GRUB and Limine installs support aarch64, and the AArch64 root partition type GUID is handled. If you maintain installer images or automated installs for ARM hardware, this is the release to test against.

Remove standard SSH allow rules when disabling SSH basecamp/omarchy

by AFOliveira

Disabling SSH deleted only the UFW rate-limit rule, leaving the standard allow rules behind while reporting the port closed. Custom firewall rules still need separate review, since the migration only removes the three standard forms.

Merge tag 'sched_ext-for-7.3-rc4-fixes-2' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tj/sched_ext torvalds/linux

by Linus Torvalds

The CPU topology helper for BPF schedulers took no buffer size, so its structure could not grow without breaking schedulers built against the older layout. A size argument added now means out-of-tree sched_ext schedulers compiled against the previous signature need a rebuild.

Replace YT6801 DKMS driver with upstream support basecamp/omarchy

by AFOliveira

The yt6801-dkms package is retired for Motorcomm PCI ID 1f0a:6801 after the upstream dwmac-motorcomm driver was shown to have taken over every adapter. Migrated systems stop loading the vendor module and no longer expose its private device-control interface.

Merge tag 'perf-urgent-2026-09-27' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip torvalds/linux

by Linus Torvalds

Ingo Molnar's tag covers PEBS virtualization fixes for KVM guests, PEBS data-source fixes across several Intel PMUs, and Panther Cove work. Relevant if you profile guests or run perf on recent Intel silicon.

Remove saved fingerprint templates for the invoking user basecamp/omarchy

by AFOliveira

Removing fingerprint authentication left the invoking user's templates under /var/lib/fprint. The account is now resolved through /usr/bin/id, the directory name validated, and only that account's templates removed; other accounts are untouched.

Use declarative summary method for all sub-configs archlinux/archinstall

by svartkanin

A new SubConfig abstract class and a summary method on every config feed the installation preview from one declarative path instead of per-config assembly. It is the groundwork any third-party or scripted config consumer will read first.

Update Japanese translation archlinux/archinstall

by utuhiro78

Alongside: the Japanese translation reached 100%, Nepali picked up 66 strings to 398/608, the Ruff redefined-loop-name rule is now enabled, and PR 4734 notes this month could otherwise ship four ISOs without updates.
