MySQL schema:load fixes, Server-Timing nested event fix, and Rails World 2026 agent benchmarks

By RepoJournal · Filed · About Rails · Composed from the cited sources · methodology

Rails landed a correctness fix for nested Server-Timing events and a set of MySQL db:schema:load changes driven by a breaking change in the MySQL 9.x client, while the ai-evals and website repos published Stage 2 results for Claude Opus 5.5, GPT-6 Sol, GPT-6 Luna, and Grok 4.7.

Fix #48375: Server-Timing double-counting of nested same-name events rails/rails

by Edilbek

ActionDispatch::ServerTiming summed event durations with events_collection.sum(&:duration), but ActiveSupport::Notifications::Event#duration is inclusive, so nested events sharing a name had their child time counted twice in the Server-Timing header. The header now reports accurate durations for nested partials and similar same-name events.

Use standard input for MySQL `db:schema:load` rails/rails

by Yasuo Honda

MySQL 9.4.0 added a --commands option that is off by default across the 9.x and 26.x series, including the 9.7 LTS, and disabling it turns off client-local commands like source, so db:schema:load with schema_format = :sql fails with a syntax error at line 1 against those clients. The task now feeds the structure file through standard input instead of SOURCE.

Drop the explicit SET FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS statements from MySQL `db:schema:load` rails/rails

by Yasuo Honda

structure_load ran SET FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS = 0 before loading the structure file, a statement dating to the first Rails commit that became redundant once the dump moved to mysqldump in 2012, since every dump since MySQL 4.1.1 opens with that setting and restores it. The explicit statements are dropped from MySQL db:schema:load.

Add Stage 2 runs: Claude Opus 5.5, GPT-6 Sol, GPT-6 Luna, Grok 4.7 rails/ai-evals

by ardecvz

The evals repo added Stage 2 runs for Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Sol at default effort (medium), GPT-6 Luna at medium, and Grok 4.7 at high, 60 runs each across the 20 full-feature tasks. Those numbers now back the Rails World 2026 Agents on Rails report on the website, which also charts cost per model and keeps chart axis labels on one line.

ruby-2.3.5 rails/devcontainer

by rafaelfranca

The devcontainer ruby-2.3.5 release adds Ruby version 4.0.7 and sets permissions on the test-features workflow; the parallel feature_ruby_2.2.5 tag carries the same Ruby 4.0.7 addition. Elsewhere on the website, banner.html, ras_hero.html post-event copy, and sponsors.yml were updated. All quiet otherwise.
