Elixir trims compiler internals: dependency-cycle preflight, type inference
By RepoJournal · Filed · About Elixir & Phoenix · Composed from the cited sources · methodology
Elixir's remote-convergence preflight drops a quadratic lookup pass and type inference gets a subpattern fix, alongside a small dead-code removal in Kernel.LexicalTracker.
Skip dependency reconstruction during cycle validation elixir-lang/elixir
The preflight check before remote convergence built sorted dependency records only to discard them, searching the full dependency list once per application. The application-name sort is now extracted and used directly for cycle validation, removing the quadratic lookup pass.
Reset and restore subpatterns during local type inference elixir-lang/elixir
José Valim's change resets and restores subpatterns during local type inference. This is the kind of compiler-internal fix that shows up as inference errors on pattern-heavy code.
Remove unused Kernel.LexicalTracker.add_require/3 (#15965) elixir-lang/elixir
Kernel.LexicalTracker.add_require/3 is gone. It had no callers, so the removal is not expected to touch user code.
