Registry gains an :off_heap option, Ecto stops dropping true filters
By RepoJournal · Filed · About Elixir & Phoenix · Composed from the cited sources · methodology
Ecto shipped a correctness fix for interpolated boolean filters that silently returned no rows, while Elixir opened a Registry option aimed at queue pressure under mass channel disconnects.
Keep interpolated true filters that a later or_where depends on (#4801) elixir-ecto/ecto
A where/having that evaluates to true at runtime (an interpolated boolean or an empty keyword list) was always dropped by Ecto.Query.Builder.Filter.apply/3, and when a later or_where or or_having depended on it, the other side was lost: where: ^false, or_where: ^true became where: false and returned no rows instead of all rows. Runtime true filters that a later or_where depends on are now kept.
Add :off_heap option to Registry (#15992) elixir-lang/elixir
Registry accepts an :off_heap start option, default false, that puts the registry's message queue off-heap. The motivation is production behavior: a Phoenix channel where many users disconnect at once produced queues that never went down and pressured GC, and the proposer reports that an off-heap queue for the PubSub registry helped.
clear reload status on next request (#4475) phoenixframework/phoenix_live_view
LiveView clears its reload status on the next request, closing the gap where the status outlived the request that set it.
Correct docs on optional deps (#15993) elixir-lang/elixir
Elixir corrected the documentation on optional dependencies; the wording changed, the behavior did not.
